The Branson Guide — Privacy & Data Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026 · Version: 2026-09-28

Who we are

Branson Guide Media, LLC ("The Branson Guide," "we," "our," or "us") operates The Branson Guide apps for iPhone and Android, the website thebransonguide.com, and the business and creator portal at portal.thebransonguide.com.

You do not need an account to use the apps. We do not ask app users for their name or email address. Like any online service, our systems and service providers do receive technical information such as network (IP) addresses and app, device and installation identifiers. We treat these identifiers as pseudonymous; they are not a promise that information can never be linked to a device.

In short

What the apps need in order to work

Whenever you use the apps — including before you agree to this policy — they contact our servers (hosted by Cloudflare, with data in Supabase) to load listings, shows, creator profiles and photos, and they load weather, map and video content from the providers described below. These requests include your IP address and technical details such as app version and device type. Share Analytics does not turn these requests off, because the apps cannot work without them.

Optional analytics and crash reports (Share Analytics)

On a fresh installation, the apps do not start optional analytics or crash reporting before you agree to this policy. After you switch Share Analytics off, the apps stop new optional collection. Previously queued or in-flight transfers have the exceptions described below. When you have agreed and Share Analytics is on:

We do not send itinerary contents, journal entries or photos as analytics.

When you turn Share Analytics off:

You can turn the setting back on at any time; analytics information deleted when you switched off is not restored. If we update this policy and ask you to agree again, your Share Analytics choice stays as you left it.

Listing and creator activity counts

After you have agreed to the policy and while Share Analytics is on, the apps send us records of interactions with listings — for example viewing a listing, or tapping its website, phone, directions, tickets, favorite, video or add-to-itinerary buttons. Each record contains the listing, the action, the time, the platform (iPhone or Android) and the device type (phone or tablet). It contains no user or device identifier. Adding an item to an itinerary is counted; the itinerary's contents are not sent.

For creator profiles, the apps send records of profile views, pick views and taps from a pick to its listing, together with a random identifier that the app creates only for these counts and keeps on your device. Our server stores a hashed form of that identifier to help distinguish repeat activity. Counting and deduplication rules depend on the event and reporting period; the identifier does not prove that a visitor is a unique person.

Businesses and creators see totals for the listings and content they manage. They do not receive visitors' itineraries, journals, precise locations or identifiers. Counts describe recorded activity, not necessarily distinct people.

Location

With your permission, the apps use your device's location to show nearby places and distances. You can deny or withdraw permission in your phone's settings. We do not store your precise location on our servers or use it for advertising.

Maps, weather, videos and links

Itineraries, favorites, journals and sharing

On iPhone, itineraries and favorites are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your personal iCloud account, which can keep them after the app is removed. Delete them in the app, or manage them in Apple's iCloud settings.

On Android, itineraries, favorites and journal entries are stored only on your device. The current app is set up so that this content is not included in Android backups or in Android's phone-to-phone transfers; transfer tools from some phone manufacturers may behave differently, and backups made by earlier versions of the app are not deleted by updating. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes this content from the device.

Journal text and photos stay on your device. Deleting the app does not delete original photos in your photo library or copies you have shared. When you share content, the app or service you choose handles the shared copy.

Ratings

When you rate a place, the app sends the rating, the place and a random identifier to our servers so we can show community averages and let you change your rating. On iPhone the identifier may be kept in your personal iCloud so it stays the same across your devices; on Android it stays on the device. Ratings are a feature you choose to use and are separate from Share Analytics.

Your agreement record

When you agree to this policy, the app sends us a random installation identifier, the policy version and the app version; the server also records the time and platform, so we can show that the agreement was given. This happens whether or not Share Analytics is on. It does not include your name or email address.

Earlier iPhone versions 1.0.8 and 1.0.9 sent a record each time the app is opened after you agree, containing that installation identifier, the platform and the app version, without applying the Share Analytics setting. Our server stores a hashed form of the identifier together with the approximate city, region and country of the connection. Google Play version 1.0.9 contains the same app-open reporting code, as verified against its distributed app bundle. The reviewed 1.1.0 builds do not send these separate app-open records; Firebase Analytics can still record app usage when enabled.

Business and creator accounts

Portal users provide the information needed to run their accounts and listings — such as contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, business details, descriptions, photos, social links and opening hours. Public listing and creator-profile content is shown to visitors. Creator and representative accounts can also include nonpublic legal or verified identity names, invitations, authorization roles, verification decisions and moderation records used to administer access and content. Stripe processes subscription payments; we do not store full card numbers, and we keep subscription and payment references (such as Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan and status). Support requests contain the sender's details, message and attachments. We use this information to run accounts, provide support, process subscriptions and send service messages (delivered through Resend).

Website

Our website host, Cloudflare, measures page loads for every visit, without cookies, to report traffic and site performance (Cloudflare Web Analytics). This happens whether or not you accept optional analytics.

If you accept optional analytics on the website, our own visit counter records the page, the referring site, your device, browser and operating-system type, your approximate country and region, and a random visitor identifier stored in your browser; on creator pages it also counts profile and pick views. If you decline, or have not yet chosen, these optional counts are not sent. Your browser stores your choice. The website choice is separate from the app's Share Analytics setting. Clearing your browser's site data resets your choice but does not delete records already collected.

Service providers

Providers receive the information their role requires and handle it under their agreements and privacy terms. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our services and users. Information may be processed outside your state or country.

We do not sell personal information and do not use app information for cross-app behavioral advertising. Featured listings are paid placements shown in context.

Keeping and deleting information

To ask about or request deletion of information, email admin@thebransonguide.com. We may need details to find the relevant records and confirm your request. Because app records use random identifiers rather than names, we may not be able to find records that relate to you without that identifier. Some information must be kept for legal, security or accounting reasons.

Your choices and rights

You can turn off Share Analytics, change location and photo permissions, delete content in the app, manage iCloud copies through Apple, decline website analytics, and contact us about account closure or data requests. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to use these rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will look into it.

Changes to this policy

Each revision shows the date it was last updated. When a change is material, the apps will show the updated policy and ask you to agree again; your Share Analytics choice is kept.
